Lord Steven William Regal is a stereotypical British gentleman with a mean streak, and could often come across like an Upper-Class Twit. Deceptively strong and in tremendous condition, he is a master of every wrestling hold and known maneuver. He is the finest scientific wrestler in the world today.

Explosive and athletic bodybuilder; “The Franchise of WCW” Sting is ridiculously fast and agile for a guy his size and he is strong enough to slam super heavyweights such as Vader, Bam Bam Bigelow and “Big” John Tenta.

Eddie Bodyslams Wright and hits a nice Slingshot Senton from the apron for 1-2! Wright fights back with a Back Drop and a Head-Scissors take-down for 1-2!. A Suplex for two follows for Wright.

Eddie does a variation of the Crossbow with both feet pushing against Wright’s back as his arms are pulled back. Eddie hits a High-knee for two and wears down the neck area of Wright.

Wright breaks free and both men are out thanks to a Double Clothesline. Eddie is up first and nails a Brainbuster. The Frog Splash finds the knees of Wright and Wright hits a Northern Lights Suplex as the timekeeper announces there’s only a minute left in the time-limit.

This was all about wrestling Takedowns, Suplexes and Leg Trips, blended with stiff martial arts from Jinsei Shinzaki.

A classic formula. Put focus on the best workers by offer a hard-hitting, realistic style that emphasize wrestling and treats it as a sport.

Jinsei Shinzaki slaps away a handshake and then goes to work on Chris Kanyon’s leg. Kanyon fires back with forearms and tries a monkey flip, but Shinzaki flips out of it. He turns around into a right hand though as Kanyon takes him down with a Headlock.

Shinzaki fights up and hits a Double Chop, but whiffs on a Dropkick. Kanyon shows him how it’s done with a Dropkick to take Shinzaki to the floor.

Back inside, Shinzaki kicks down Kanyon and then pitches him out to the floor. Shinzaki hits Kanyon with a Pescado and then shows off like a douche by back flipping off the top rope in the ring. To make up for it, Shinzaki bows before Kanyon.

When Kanyon goes to return the favor, Shinzaki starts chopping him on the head.

Corkscrew Senton by Shinzaki connects. It looks to be curtains for Shinzaki, but Kanyon fires back with an All-American boot the gut. Fisherman’s Suplex by Kanyon gets 1-2-NO!

Big and tough, Hugh Morrus can trade punches with the best of them. A talented powerhouse brawler who can do an breathtaking and devastating moonsault.

Widely considered the best pro wrestler ever. He wasn’t given the nickname “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” for nothing. Thumbs to the eye and kicks to the groin are among his favorite illegal tactics. Huge pop for Sting. The Stinger is clearly the most popular wrestler in World Championship Wrestling.

Singles Match for the WCW United States Title

stingvsRic FlairDiamond Doll

Sting © vs. Ric Flair w/ Elizabeth

“The Franchise of WCW” Sting is ridiculously fast and agile for a guy his size and he is strong enough to slam super heavyweights such as Vader.

“The Dirtiest Player in the Game! A limousine-ridin’, jet-flyin’, wheelin’ dealin’ kiss-stealin’ — Woooo! — Son-Of-A-Gun!”

“To be the man! Wooooooooo!, you gotta beat the man!”

“Time to go to school!”

“Wooooooooo!”

This is an epic encounter, mixing psychology, drama, ringcraft and emotion.

Hot start as Sting fires away on Flair and gives him a Press Slam or two. Ten-count Corner Punch leads to the Flair Flip to the apron and a Clothesline.

Sting punches Flair around the ring and goes for his Stinger Splash up against the guardrail, which never works.

We have to take a break!

After some commercials, Flair is Chopping away. Back Suplex from Flair sets up The Figure Four. He proceeds to cheat by grabbing every rope possible. Sting eventually begins to no-sell the pain and turns the hold over.

Press Slam to Flair! Hiptoss out of the corner leads to a Dropkick. Flair cools him off with a good ol’ thumb to the eye.

“Woooooo!”

Back to the floor we go, where Flair gouges Sting’s eyes real good. He wants to use a chair, but ref Randy Anderson says no way.

Inside the ring, Flair takes open shots at the Stinger and covers him with his feet on the ropes. Headlock and Backslide sequence follows. That gets two for Sting.

Flair goes up top and goes down to the mat. Sting unloads on Flair in the corner. So much in fact, he has to literally pick up referee Randy Anderson and place him in the opposite corner.

That allows Flair to pull out his foreign object from his tights! Bam! Right in the kisser. Flair styles and profiles all over the ring and then drops an elbow on the KO’ed Sting. Cover, 1-2-NO!

Flair’s blows stop affecting the Stinger!

Sting begins to no-sell his opponent’s offense.

Hulk up, beat chest, Punch, Backhand, Punch.

Another Press Slam. Sting follows up with a Top-rope Superplex and applies the Scorpion Deathlock.

Interview w/ Sting

gene okerlund 2sting

“Mean Gene” interviews Sting to end the show.

They talk about the challenge from Hogan, and Sting says that he’s got no problem with Hulk Hogan, he’s had his back since Hogan first came to WCW. Sting wants to know where Hogan is coming from. He says that the world is caving in around Hulk Hogan, his memory must be foggy. He gets it, he really does. Ge’s got Vader chasing him trying to ending his career.

“But so what?”

He asks if Hulk knows how many times the world’s caved in around the Stinger in WCW and he fought of it, and most of the time he had to do that on his own! He gives Hulk a little refresher, reminding him that he was the one who welcomed Hulk to WCW with open arms over a year ago, and he didn’t have to be so welcoming, he could’ve taken the Ric Flair route, lord knows he toyed with it, but that’s not the kind of man the Stinger is.

He says Hulk wasn’t exactly getting the welcome basket from people and fans of WCW until he got the Stinger’s stamp of approval. And for almost 18 months now, whenever Hulk’s needed help, whenever he’s needed backup against Ric Flair, “Big” John Tenta, Vader and The Stud Stable; who’s been by his side?!

“The Stinger, that’s who!”.

He’s not going to sit idly by and be called a little puppy waiting on the doorstep, he’s the big dog of WCW, and he has been for quite some time, long before Hulk Hogan came to WCW. He says this is where the Big Boys Play and it is the Stinger’s House, and if Hulk Hogan wants to step in this ring, into this house, and go one on one with the Stinger, then he’s game.

So he tells Hulk Hogan to get all his black gear on, wake up all depressed, and take that long limosuine ride to Nitro, because that’s where this “little puppy dog” is going to show the visitor to his house who the big dog really is, and on Nitro, he is playing for keeps.

Sting’s had guys challenge him for years and he’s still standing, so what makes Hogan think this time will be any different?

Sting says he will leave next Nitro with both the WCW World Heavyweight title and the WCW United States title.

Plus, how can you not love a team that brought a table to the ring every night?

It’s time to get nastified…

Detroit Street Fight

Rocco RockJohnny Grunge

The Nasty Boys vs. The Public Enemy

Big brawl to start and they pair off in the ringside area and beat on each other. The Nasties mercilessly double team their opponents and gain every advantage from their own unique interpretation of the rules.

Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge did alot of classic stooging and over acting to sell The Nasties roughhousing.

The match was sloppy as hell and more than a little dangerous. It contained stiff punches and kicks, even stiffer weapon strikes, and ridiculous amounts of blood.

Rocco Rock stands up on the guardrail and Jerry Sags kicks the rail to send Rocco Rock down really fast.

After that, Sags leaves and brings a table to the ring. He leans it up in the corner to Hiptoss Rocco into it, but Rock counters with a Bulldog.

They switch as Brian Knobbs knocks Rocco Rock off the apron to send him into the guardrail.

Sags delivers a Piledriver to Johnny Grunge as they look to Splash him through that table.

Rock gets rid of Sags and tries to Moonsault Knobbs through the table, but the table doesn’t break. Well, not really. Sags grabs a piece of the table and whacks on Public Enemy.

When Grunge tries to leave, Knobbs throws the huge remain of the table on top of him! Great brawl from everybody

Singles Match for the WCW World Television Title

alex wrightDDPMax Muscle 2Diamond Doll

Alex Wright vs. Diamond Dallas Page w/ Max Muscle & Diamond Doll

The young German Alex Wright is overflowing with potential and looks like the next breakout star in WCW.

It’s the obnoxious, arrogant heel Diamond Dallas Page, with his insurance policy Max Muscle and the ditsy Diamond Doll by his side. His valet Diamond Doll would hold up scorecards whenever he executed a particularly effective move. Naturally, winning the match earned him a “10.”

Alex Wright knee-lifts and tosses Diamond Dallas Page out of the ring.

Max Muscle tries to nail him from behind, fails at it, and delivers a double-noggin knocker. Page spills out into the crowd for some crowd action!

Wright finds a pail and puts it on Page’s head for an ear clap and then throws him face-first into the ringpost.

Back in the ring, Wright slows it down with an Armbar. Wright wants a ten-count corner punch, but Page has other ideas and drops Wright’s face on the top turnbuckle.

Page gets a ten from the Diamond Doll!

He works over Wright in the corner and delivers a Back Suplex.

He points at Doll to throw up another ten sign and she does.

Pancake Slam by Page gets two.

Wright tries to come out of a Chinlock, but DDP slams his head back onto the mat for two.

Backslide by Wright gets two, but then he turns around into a Clothesline.

Page blocks a Sunset Flip with a punch and kneels down across Wright’s shoulders for two. Wright reverses for 1-2-NO!

Wright escapes a Chinlock into an overhead Wristlock, but Page gets some assistance from Max Muscle to yank Wright back down to the mat. Now Max distracts ref Nick Patrick while DDP chokes Wright with his wrist tape. Of course Page is being sneaky by choking him while he’s got on a Chinlock. Wright tries to come out of it again into an overhead Wristlock. Max tries to provide the muscle, but Page can’t reach him and takes a Back Suplex.

Wright mounts a comeback with an Atomic Drop from both sides of Page. Tilt-a-whirl Headscissors! Flying Double Ax-handle connects on Page’s head.

Cover by Wright, 1-2-NO! Page counters a Hiptoss into a DDT to turn the tide. Cover, 1-2-NO! Diamond Cutter is blocked as Wright grabs the top rope.

Page is dumped out to the floor as Wright delivers the Somersault Plancha on both Page and Max Muscle! Back in, Wright hits a Slingshot Splash on Page for 1-2-NO! Heel miscommunication ensues as Wright rolls up Page for 1-2-NO! Wright gets thrown out to Maxx Muscle, who is promptly posted. Wait, no he’s not. More heel miscommunication goes down as Page gets nailed by Max Muscle. Wright nails Max with a Dropkick! He covers Page for 1-2-3.

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 14:14 by pinfall with a Hangman’s Neckbreaker following botched interference by Max Muscle. Alex Wright wins the WCW World Television title.

Hulk Hogan vs. Vader © w/ Harley Race

The “Rocky Mountain Horror” is one of the most physical, stiff and intimidating workers in the World. A top draw wherever he has been, Vader has dominated in Japan, Europe, Mexico and the United States. He is one of the greatest big men in wrestling history and despite weighing around 450lbs, he is known to pull off Moonsaults. He is also known for his relentless string of squash matches where he leaves masses of obliterated jobber carnage. He held three different world titles from three different promotions on three continents making him the closest thing professional wrestling has ever had to a true world champion.

A Punch, two Clotheslines, but Vader no-sells Hulk Hogan’s offense.

Vader do his “‘Who’s the Man?’ gorilla-grunting routine.

Vader dominates his arch enemy with his brutal offense.

Vader pounced on Hulk Hogan, throwing wild punches with his massive hands and pawing at his victim’s face, much like a bear would attack its prey.

Vader took to the air, knocking the wind out of his foe with several of his trademark Vader Bombs. The monster then taunted Hulk Hogan, slapping him and asking, “Who’s the man?”

Vader beats Hogan out of the ring, over the barricade, through the crowd, and back into the ring. Vader tries to Clothesline Hulk up against the ringpost, but misses. Hulk jabs him with a chair and grabs a fan’s Camera to bash Vader in the head.

They meet on the rampway and brawl like crazy. Hogan fires up the ol’ extensive five moves of doom moveset by Choking and Stomping Vader. Hogan gets the chair again and nails Vader right in the skull.

tony schiavonebobby heenan 2Eric Bischoff 3

Heel colour commentator Bobby “The Brain” Heenan hypes Vader and keeps bashing Hulk Hogan on commentary with anti-Hogan remarks.

They make it into the ring where Vader runs into a Big Boot and gets drilled by a Clothesline. Hogan takes him to the corner for more straight shots to the face.

Hulk gets punched out to the rampway. Both wrestlers are clearly busted open at this point, looking bloody and bruised.

Though he looked like he had been through war, Hulk Hogan was able to mount enough of a counter attack to survive. Hogan is utilising traditional heel tactics like low blows, eye pokes and back rakes. Hulk Hogan evaded another aerial attack and saw an opportunity to take the fight to the arena floor, where he had an advantage. He clotheslined Vader over the top rope with the momentum taking them both to the floor.

Vader is steamrolling over Hogan looking unstoppable.

Hulk fires away with some more punches and then walks out to head down the rampway. Vader comes stalking after Hogan.

Hogan nails him with a Running Clothesline and covers for three. Vader’s up at two and Hogan grabs a piece of the set and hits Vader with it. That knocks Vader down off the rampway to the floor where Hogan gives him a Legdrop.

They go back to the rampway where Hogan cheats like a old school heel by throwing powder in Vader’s eyes.

A low blow and a chair shot puts Vader down. Hogan blasts Vader again with a chair. Vader is knocked out and the crowd goes nuts.

In an unbelievable match, Hulk Hogan defeated Vader in a 1 vs 1 Falls Count Anywhere match in 20:21 when Vader was knocked out with a Steel Chair. Hulk Hogan wins the WCW World Heavyweight title.
